Abstract (EN)
Health institutions require a different and more sensitive service than other institutions. Inconsistencies and uncertainties in demands in hospitals, the complexity of service processes, the necessity of providing services in coordination with both complex and large teams, and the rapid development and change of medicine and technology have brought the level of interaction that can be realized both in leadership and members to an important dimension. However, such situations also show that conflict can also occur in the interaction between the leader and the member. Conflict management can be shaped by leader-member interactions. For this reason, the study was carried out on nurses actively working in a public hospital, which is a health institution, and the relationship between leader member interaction and conflict management behaviors is examined. From this point of view, the aim of the study is to determine the leader-member interaction and conflict management behaviors of nurses, to determine the relationship between demographic and professional characteristics and to examine the relationship between leader-member interaction and conflict management behaviors. As a result of the analyzes, it was examined whether personal characteristics such as gender, age, marital and educational status make a difference between leader member interaction conflict management behaviors and it was seen that these personal factors were effective in total and sub-dimensions. In addition, the occupational characteristics of the participants were examined in terms of their position at work, duration of work in the profession, being in a managerial position, and being satisfied with the profession, and it was seen that these factors were effective in total and sub-dimensions. Finally, the relationship between leader member interaction and conflict management behaviors was measured by correlation and regression tests, and there was a statistically significant relationship between them. The findings obtained as a result of the research are a determining factor in seeing the results of the behavior and attitudes of the management and the leader in terms of leader-member interactions. Although there are significant differences in the relationship between leader-member interactions and organizational conflict inventory, the effects of these differences in terms of health institutions are more sensitive, complex and since they have an important role in serving human health, motivation and performance of employees are factors that can also affect service quality. For this reason, the gain in leader-member interaction can be evaluated in terms of the employee's commitment to the organization and its positive effect on organizational citizenship behavior.
