Abstract (EN)

The Limonlu Stream Basin, which is located on the borders of Mersin Province with a total border length of 177.2 km, is located in the Adana Section of the Mediterranean Region. The Limonlu Stream Basin, which has a complex structure in terms of its structural features, was first closed in the Upper Cretaceous period according to the studies. In general terms, the structural features of the canyon and its immediate surroundings, which were formed in the Jurassic-Holsen period, were detailed by field studies. While the coastal parts of the basin are typical Mediterranean climate feature; As we move further into higher grounds, continental climate effects begin to be seen. The Limonlu Stream Basin consists mostly of karst terrain and the majority of the land has been affected by fault tectonics. The main soil type seen at the survey site, the red Mediterranean Soils (Terra rossa), has the widest distribution area. As vegetation, forests and associations formed by Red Pine, Maquis, Junipers, Larch, Cedar and Firs cover a large area. In and around the Limonlu Stream Basin, many historically rich structures and ruins can be seen. These structures are visited by tourists and contribute to the tourism of the region. In the region, sea tourism is active on the coastline and highland activities are active in the mountainous areas. During the summer season, many people visit the basin and its surroundings. When the studies in the field of tourism for the canyon are examined; It has been seen that there are studies carried out on behalf of tourism, but they are not evaluated under the title of creative tourism. The studies related to the Limonlu Stream Basin field are mostly geological and hydrological in content and pioneered the study of the lack of studies targeting the site directly for tourism purposes. After the structural features of the area, geomorphologic features, climatic features, hydrologic features of the valley, and flora and fauna features have been revealed in detail, suggestions have been made to make a tourism planning suitable for the natural and cultural characteristics of the area.
