Abstract (EN)
In this study, some mints rich in linalool and linalyl acetate were investigated under Isparta ecological conditions. Field studies were carried out between 2021 and 2023 according to the coincidence blocks experimental design. In this study, morphological, agronomic and chemical characteristics of the clones were investigated. Essential oils extracted by distillation method were determined by GC-MS and phenol composition was determined by HPLC. Morphological observations revealed that all clones except Basilicuminze (Mentha piperita f. citrata) were dark in color and the leaves were fleshier. Among the different taxa, clone PI557591 (M. canadensis) has the most different characteristic from the other clones with its verticillate flowering. Total green herb yield varied between 24.08-36.98 t/ha. The highest yield was obtained from PI 557591 (M. canadensis) clone in three years. In Granada (M. piperita) variety, although high yields were obtained in the first year, yields decreased in the following years. Throughout the study, essential oil ratios varied between 1.3 and 3.5%, the highest value was obtained from clone PI557591 (M. canadensis) with 3.5%. In the study, five of the clones (Basilicuminze, PI557591, PI557591, Dume-1, Granada, PI557966) had the highest linalool content and two (Lemon, Dume1) had the highest linalyl acetate content. The highest linalool content was obtained from clone PI557966 (M. aquatica var. citrata) with 46.3%. The highest linalyl acetate ratio was obtained from Basilicuminze and Lemon (M. gentilis) varieties with 35.7%. In the study, eriocitrin and rosmarinic acid were the most important compounds and the highest amounts of eriocitrin and rosmarinic acid were obtained from Granada variety in 2023 with 155.7 µg/mg and 82.0 µg/mg, respectively. As a result of the study, it was determined that PI557966 and PI557591 clones can be grown as a source of linalool and lianlyl acetate due to its rapid growth and yield and Dume-2 (M. dumetorum) clone can be grown as a source of eriocitrin.
