Investigation of air pollution in çan in terms of geography lesson learning and teaching process according to the perception of 9th grade high school students

Çan is one of the speediest developed towns of Çanakkale. Seramic factories, coal managements and finaly thermic central have made this region and it?s environment attractive Çan is a place taking migration. This situation has brought some unpredicted problems together. One of the most important problems is air pollution. Also jeomorphologie specialities of settlement place are important actives causing this result. Çan is situated near river valley (Kocabaş river) in a hollow aerea as settlement place. This situation has created increasing air pollution by taking population fast and using Çan lignite coal having low calory.That environmental actives can effect training and teaching directly or indirectly are realities so we should accept these realities. Today among the most important environment problems of some cities air pollution takes place. İn this study, in the process of the learning and teaching geography, according to student persive the pollution in Çan has been investigated. An inquiry has been organised for 385 students in the institutes secondary teaching in Çan. According to the results in our hands in the process of the learning and teaching geography, it has done the comments related with the pollution. The main result; the students didn?t see the pollution is an negative effect directly in the process of the learning and teaching geography. The students ?generally think- this situation is in their responsability this situation can be seen as a desired result. İt has been understood that the effects of. Air pollution should be taught deeply, clearly and realistic however. According to the students and the schools, it has seen high differences among answers given by them. İt has been given place fort the results arrived in the last part.
