Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to determine high schools' students' and teachers' perceptions of universal values, to specify students' and teachers' perceptions of universal values based on different variables and lastly to compare students' and teachers' perceptions of universal values. Present study is a descriptive research in a scanning model which quantitive methods used. The research population are consist of students and teachers from high schools in 2013-2014 school year in the İskenderun district of Hatay. Sample of the study was 1365 studends and 313 teachers who randomly selected from 14 high schools. Research data collected with "the attitude scale relating to universal values" delevoped by Demir and Koç (2009) and personal information form developed by researcher. According to the results of research, attitudes related to the universal values of high school students and teachers have been positive at a very high level. Student and teacher attitudes towards the universal values based on "gender"; women were found to be more positive than men. In addition, according to the "students' number in the class" variable, teachers of crowded classes than teachers of sparse classes, according to the "perception of academic achievement" variable, students of answered middle and high than students of answered very high, low and very low, found to have more positive attitudes level of universal values. Another result obtained from the research, the level of teachers' attitudes on universal values are more positive from the level of students' attitudes on universal values.
