Özet (EN)

The purpose of the study was to determine some variables that to predict academic motivation among high school students. In this study, personality, self efficiacy and perfectionism were chosen as variables that predict academic motivation. This study is a descriptive regressional study. The participants of the research were high school students (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th) in Konak, İzmir at the education year of 2011-2012. 293 of sample were female, 209 of sample were male. "Academic Motivation Scale" , "Self Efficiacy Scale", "Adjective Based Personality Inventory", "Child and Adolescent Perfectionism Scale" and "Information Form" were used as data gathering instruments. Statistical analyses of data was made by using SPSS 17 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences). Academic motivation variable was evaluated as a dependent variable and whether this variable was predicted by the independent variables, personality, self efficiacy and perfectionism were analysed by Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis. The results showed that personality, self oriented perfectionism and self efficiacy variables predicted academic motivation. The students who are conscious, self oriented perfectionist and self efficient have high academic motivation.
