The Determination of the effects of the familys attitude on the school achievement and anxiety level of the high school students

This research is planned to determine the effects of the parents' attitudes on the level of trait anxiety and academic achivement of the high school students. The effects of the democratic and the authoritarian attitudes of the parents on the level of trait anxiety and academic achivement are examinated according to some variables. The similarities and the differences between these variables are worked out by statistical techniques. 205 (126 female, 79 male) high school students from different schools of different socio economic status in Izmir took place in this study. The anxiety level (Trait anxiety) of the studets' are determinated by the "Spielberger Anxiety Scala" and family's attitude are determinated by the "Kuzgun's Family's Attitude Scala". The SES (Socio-economic Status) and other personal information about the students are gathered by the "The Personal Information Questionnaire"which is prepared by the researcher.
