The evaluation of hopelessness and anxiety levels of students studying tourism education in high school and university in terms of various variables: The case of Antalya

This research aims that evaluation and comparison of undergraduate and high school students hopelessness and state-trait anxiety level who study in tourism.The sample of research is consisted of 496 high school studenst and undergraduates who study tourism in Antalya in 2006-2007 educational year by group according to sample. The sample of research is consisted of 212 undergraduates and 284 high school studenst.In research Beck Hopelessness Scale (BHS) with 20 items which was improved by Beck and his colleagues, adapted to Turkish by Seber in 1991, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) with 40 items which improved by Spielberger his colleagues, adapted to Turkish by Öner and Le Comte and personal information form which belongs to studenst and their parents ( sex, state of class, income state, occupation, etc.) were used. Taking precedence in research description frakens and posed account was made, than for hopelessness and State-Trait Anxiety data were analyzed with such statistical techniques in SPSS 13.0?The relationship betwen hopelessness and state-trait anxiety was used Simple/ Biuariate Correlation: Pearson Correlation Coeffcient?For two groups was Independent Samples t Test?For more than two groups in order to compare was used one-way Anova analysisAccording to results of this research meaningful and pozitif relation is determined between hopelessness and state-trait anxiety, besides satisfaction of education, relationship of school friends, state of year in school, conscious and willing preference, state of success in school, parents? salary, residence state of undergraduate, mother and father schooling states, father jop state form diffrence on hopelessness and state-trait anxiety.
