Abstract (EN)

This study deals with the phenomenon of Mugayyebat-ı hamse (five unknowns) mentioned in Surah Lokman. First of all, the meaning, parts and scope of the concept of ghayb are explained. The pericison differences between the concepts of the profound ghayb, the absolute ghayb and the relative ghayb, which are parts of the ghayb, have been explained. In addition, it has been emphasized that the universe consists of two worlds, the world of the ghayb and the world of visibility, and that these two worlds are different from each other, although there are close ties between them. The relationship between the worlds of the ghayb and the visibility and the position of man between these two worlds have also been examined. After all this, the muğayyebât-ı hamse (five unknowns) mentioned in Surah Lokman was meticulously researched. The views of scholars on mugayyebat-ı hamsa issues such as the time and conditions of the Doomsday, rain and the part of the weather forecasts related to rain, knowing the sex of the fetus in the womb and the fetus in the mother's womb through modern sciences and whether this is within the scope of knowing the ghayb are compared. In addition, how to compare modern sciences with knowing the ghayb is also examined. The science of future events and works, prediction of the future by people, knowing death and the place where people will die, types of death and the wisdom of keeping the time of death secret from people are emphasized. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that there are three types of the unseen, that only God can know the unseen in absolute terms, that using modern scientific data and using modern tools for knowledge of certain things does not contradict knowing the ghayb (only Allah) as a belief phenomenon.
