Problems that couldn't be solved in Lozan Peace Agreement

Lozan Peace Agreement was a real achievement just because it ended the Independence War, got revenge from the winners of World War I (WWI), solved legislative and politics problems and found solutions to the problems which were ongoing for centuries. Since the winners of WWI, worrying to lose the privileges that they had during the Ottoman Empire, have forced Turkey to agree with the unacceptable articles of Mondros and Sevr Agreement. But Turkey, as being a new and independent state, has signed the Lozan Peace Agreement under the most appropriate conditions. Of course we couldn?t get all we wanted and let some problems to be solved in time but it is to be known that, in that time Turks had no power and source to continue the war anymore. In this study, Lozan Peace Agreement was discussed in a different point of view. The bilaterally unsolved problems and the subjects that were resulted not in favor of us, were examined. In the introductory of the study, after the conference conditions and attendees were shortly mentioned, the politics events from WWI to Lozan Peace Agreement were discussed. In the first chapter, the subjects which were held in two phases of the conference were discussed in details. In the second chapter, the problems occurred in the first and the second phase were examined separately and compared under the article of ?Problems that couldn?t be solved in Lozan?. In the third chapter the effects of unsolved problems were discussed. In the final chapter, in despite of criticism against Lozan Peace Conference and existence of some ongoing unsolved problems, it is mentioned that Lozan is one of the unique agreement which effects today and the future, as Atatürk said ?Lozan is such a political victory that never seen in whole Ottoman Empire history?.
