Abstract (EN)
The architectural features, functions, causes of formation and shapes of the cave houses in two different regions (Cappadocia and Kandovan) in Turkey and Iran have been studied. During the study, the history, structural features and function patterns of the two regions with different geographical features have been examined and the development process has been observed on site. In two different geographies, it has been explored how the living spaces with almost the same characteristics were created and how the people shaped these rocks for housing. In the comparative study of the two regions, features, functional diversity and solutions have been examined. As living spaces are formed within existing geographic formations, it has been investigated how these formations are designed and how they are adapted to daily needs and living conditions at that time. Keywords: Cave houses, Cappadocia, Kandovan, Interior design
