Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is experimentally to obtain alternative fuel from waste plastics in Malatya province by pyrolysis method and to mix this fuel with diesel fuel in a single cylinder diesel engine. First, waste plastics were heat-treated in the pyrolysis reactor at 450 ° C for about 20-25 minutes to obtain alternative fuel. Secondly, the products obtained at this temperature were subjected to distillation process and products having a boiling point of 216 ° C to 450 ° C and forming alternative fuel from waste plastic were collected in graduated bottles. Subsequently, blended fuels were formed by mixing alternate fuel from waste plastic with different proportions of standard diesel fuel (SDY). Mixture fuels depending on the ratio of alternative fuel originating from waste plastic in the mixture; APY10 (90% diesel, 10% APY), APY20 (80% diesel, 20% AY), APEY10 (80% diesel, 10% APY, 10% ethanol). Test fuels Engine performance (engine power, engine torque, specific fuel consumption) and exhaust emissions (CO, CO2, UHC) of mixed fuels tested in separate single cylinder diesel engines at 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 rpm The effect of this study was compared with the ESR. According to the data obtained from engine tests; As the alternative fuel ratio originating from waste plastic in the mixture increases, engine power and engine torque values decrease while specific fuel consumption and exhaust emission values increase.
