Özet (EN)

At the end of the 18th century, military reforms carried out in the Ottoman Empire also influenced the field of healthcare, and by the 19th century, the modernization of medicine accelerated. As part of efforts to protect the health of soldiers, modern military hospitals were established. The main objective of this thesis is to examine the Maltepe Military Hospital, also known as the Asakir-i Mansure Hospital, which was one of the military hospitals that began operating in the early 19th century. Founded during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II to serve the soldiers stationed at the Rami and Davudpaşa Barracks, the hospital was built between these two military complexes. The Maltepe Military Hospital, which was established in 1827, was dissolved in 1922. A comprehensive study of this hospital from various aspects will provide an institutional example of the modernization process of Ottoman medicine.
