The views of the Manavgat Karavca neighborhood residents about national cultural items in the nearby environment

Communication technologies are developing rapidly today. With this development, the social structure changes in parallel. In order for a society to be based on solid foundations, it must realize the importance of national culture and its elements. In this way, national unity and togetherness is provided in the society. No matter how strong a society has a economy, it is important that the society has a common culture. Individuals should be aware of the products that emerge as a result of the national culture in the region where they reside. With this awareness, protecting and protecting these elements in their close environment are among the duties of individuals. The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of the inhabitants of Manavgat Karavca Mahallesi on the national cultural elements in the immediate vicinity. For this purpose, a semi-structured interview method based on qualitative research was used. The study group of the research consists of 19 people from the residents of Manavgat Karavca District. The ages of the participants vary between 18-70 years. In the research, semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. According to the research findings, the perspectives of the residents of Karavca District differ on the national cultural elements in their immediate vicinity. Neighborhood residents, who are aware of the cultural elements in their neighborhood, are as much as those who are not aware of it. As the material cultural element in their close circle in the answers, the participants mentioned the regions that are popular with the nature and appearance of Manavgat. It is pointed out that the intangible cultural elements in their close surroundings are forgotten and protected.
