Özet (EN)

Elected local administrations are equipped with a set of supervisory traits in their province or district. Autonomous local administrators not only utilize these authorizations for the needs and development of the province or district, but also to engage in cultural activities. Activities sponsored by local administrations can be of many types such as exhibitions, conversations and concerts. It is seen that the most comprehensive of these cultural activities are festivals. Playing a role in the making and distribution processes of the posters used in festivals and other similar events, in which cultural exchange is intensive, local administrations are also active in the design process thereof. In this study, the influence of local administrations on cultural posters in Manisa province after 2000 has been investigated. Within this scope, literature review, archive search, face-to-face interview and phone interview methods have been used. In this study specific to Manisa province, answers shall be sought whether the posters reflect the cultural elements of the region, whether the local administrations have an effect on these posters, if they do; how and to what extent, and how design management should be handled in local administrations. The aim of the study is to be a resource for academicians, designers and local administrators studying on the subject and to contribute to the existing literature.
