Investigation of the relationship between brand hate and consumer personality

Özet (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between brand hate and consumer personality structure. The universe of the research consists of football fans aged 18 and over living in Antalya. Quantitative research method was used in the study, and the data were obtained by online questionnaire method. In total 405 the questionnaire was evaluated. The data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS package program. Factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, factor analysis were applied to the data obtained. As a result of the factor analysis, four dimensions were found for the brand hate variable and eleven dimensions for the personality structure variable. Brand hatred dimensions consist of negative word of mouth, complaint, avoidance and protest dimensions. Personality structure dimensions consist of buffoon, hero, rebel, magician, wise, lover, citizen, explorer, innocent, caregiver and king. As a result of the correlation analysis, it is seen that there are low-level significant, positive (rebel, wise, caregiver) and negative (citizen, explorer, lover) relationships between brand hate dimensions (negative word of mouth, complaint, avoidance and protest) and personality structure dimensions. As a result of the regression analysis, it was determined that personality structure dimensions (rebel, wise, caregiver, explorer and citizen) had an effect on brand hatred. Finally, in the t-test and one-way ANOVA analyzes applied, it was determined that there were significant differences between all demographic characteristics of the participants and their perceptions of personality structure and brand hate dimensions.
