Özet (EN)

Quality control (QC) is the general term for the processes that are applied to raw data from acquisition to interpretation step, for the evaluation of data quality. The aim is to get the best data set for the ideal results during interpretation. With the help of the software developed with MATLAB, the control of data storage units which provide communication with system components for seismic data access. Also the OC of acquired navigation data are performed simultaneously with seismic data. During data acquisition, visual supervision and control of both seismic and navigation information are also performed during the data acquisition. In this work, high resolution seismic reflection data are used as sample data set. These data were acquired in 2010 from southern shelf of Marmara Sea aboard of R/V K. Piri Reis of Dokuz Eylul University. Quality control process steps are applied with QC program. Then QC is applied and prescriptively processed data are compared. After QC and pre-processing steps, main processing steps were applied to data. Finally seismic profiles were interpreted. On the profiles close to the Marmara Sea outlet, Çanakkale Canyon is evident. The origin of this canyon is probably related with both tectonics and global sea level changes according to the existence of deep faults and erosional surfaces.
