Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to systematically examine the tendency of articles and theses conducted to eliminate students' misconceptions about the learning areas in mathematics education in our country between 2013-2023 (including 2013 and 2023). The research was accessed through Google Scholar search engine and YÖK Thesis databases. 1 doctoral thesis, 27 master's theses and 27 articles obtained as a result of the literature review were examined according to certain categories within the framework of the 'Data Collection Tool Used to Classify Studies' form, which was created using the literature. The studies used in the research, the identity of the study (descriptive information about the study), the field of the study, the sample, the method, the data collection tools, the data analysis method, the results of the study and the methods, techniques, strategies and solutions to eliminate misconceptions/mistakes made/ difficulties experienced, according to categories has been examined. The model of this research was determined as qualitative research method. Document review technique was used as data collection technique. The data obtained according to the subcategories included in the data collection tool were analyzed using the content analysis method. The frequency and percentage values of the findings were calculated and presented in tables. In the results of working, ıt was found that the most studies were done in 2019, the most theses were done at Balıkesir University and Bartın University, the most articles were published in the Journal of Computer and Education Research, thesis type studies were more than article type studies, and the least doctoral type thesis studies were conducted. The most studied learning area at the primary school level is Numbers and Operations; ıt has been determined that there are learning areas of Numbers and Algebra at the secondary education level, and studies are frequently conducted with secondary school students at the primary education level, with a sample size of 1-50. In addition, it was also concluded that qualitative research was mostly used as a research model, achievement tests and interview techniques were used as data collection tools, and qualitative data analysis methods were applied as data analysis methods. Different solution methods are used to eliminate misconceptions, difficulties experienced and mistakes made in mathematics education, and similar solutions are preferred in some studies; ıt has been observed that the solutions grouped under the category of alternative methods or techniques are more preferred, and among these, concept cartoons are used more than others. It is thought that the results of the study will contribute to researchers who will work in this field. At the end of the research, suggestions were presented to researchers who want to work on this subject.
