Abstract (EN)
Past developments in technology and hardware repeatedly changed the way pictures were created. Pictures passed from cave walls to temples, churches, photo albums, movies, television, and finally, to computer screens. In the future, artistic presentation methods will continue to develop and this will ensure the emergence of different fields. Just like it happened in the 500-year development process that started with the invention of the lens and reached the matte painting technique of today, people will continue to follow these developments with curiosity in the following years. This thesis focuses on the evolution of the "Matte Painting" technique from past to present, and the art disciplines using this technique. Also, details about how the "Matte Painting" technique is implemented in the academy and different sectors in our country are mentioned. In the introduction, the place of "Matte Painting" in history and art is examined and the variables related to the period are scrutinized. In the second part, pre- and post-technology "Matte Painting" application methods and techniques are inspected in depth. In the third chapter, the state of this technique in the academy and sectoral fields, both in our country and the world, is explained, together with information about how the technique was applied and since when. In the view of this information, the evaluation and conclusion part of the thesis examines the final state of the "Matte Painting" technique in our country and in the world - weak or lacking aspects of the technique are ascertained and detailed information is presented about how the technique should be applied in the academy and sectoral areas in the future.
