Abstract (EN)

This study investigates the relationship between perceived workplace mobbing and burnout levels of adults who are blue collar or white collar workers. The quantitative study includes a review of the related literature and the data of the study is collected through relational scanning method. The universe of this research consists of people living in Turkey's Tekirdağ and Istanbul provinces of between 20 to 40 years old, whose working in factory, industry and private sector categoriesed as blue and white collar employees. The sample of the study consists of 400 randomly selected people among these individuals. Literature involving books, journals, articles, master's and doctoral theses on mobbing and burnout topics is examined and relayed at the conceptual framework section under the titles created by the author of this study. A socio-demographic information form, Turkish version of the Negative Act Questionnaire (NAQ-R) and Turkish version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory are used for collecting the data. The data of this study are analysed in SPSS 22. According to the findings, blue and white collar workers perceive mobbing behaviour at their workplace as equally present. The results indicate that white collar workers have significantly higher emotional exhaustion and depersonalization levels than blue collar workers. In addition, the data suggest that blue collar workers experience significantly more decrease at their sense of personal accomplishment. The findings are discussed inlight of the related literature.
