Abstract (EN)
In thesis, that determining the effects of the lesson ?media literacy? lesson on students? reading habits of printed or online newspaper and journal and that revealing whether the course makes a difference on students? abilities in evaluation of news in newspapers and journals critically, will try to be revealed.This study deals with the lesson of media literacy affects the students? reading habits of newspaper and journal in what extent and in this study a survey that includes opened and closed end questions was conducted to two groups including total 212 students who take and do not take the lesson. A general evaluation was made by moving from 56 characteristic register charts which was filled by the survey answers and lessons in class.The lesson media literacy has positively affected the students? reading habits of newspaper and journal but it has become distanced to bring a critical perspective while reading the media texts.When we analyze the characteristic register charts, it was observed that the students who bought newspaper or journal to their house regularly were more active in attendance in class than the students who did not buy newspaper or journal.In accordance with the all facts it can be implied that the lesson has leastwise effects on students in approaching the point of view to newspapers and journals. However, it has been thought that the factors such as the negative attitude of parents on newspapers and journals, the scarcity of lesson periods, the using of inappropriate materials in class, not being of branch teachers has decreased the efficiency in the lesson.Key Words1.
