Abstract (EN)

While explaining the processes that political humor has undergone from past to present and the digitalization of the world with the development of web 2.0 technology, 'caps' messages, which are the latest state of political humor and to what extent they give meaning to have been examined. Caps, which have become one of the most important visual culture forms of social media outlets that arose due to the development of new communication technologies, offer a humorous narrative form that is socially popular. Individuals who fathom only the contents presented in traditional media, have become capable of producing their own humorous content quickly thanks to the user-based and interactive structure of social media. Thus, humor's relationship with politics has transformed into a new field. Political caps are a visual message form with symbolic meanings. These symbols are used consciously by the creator of the caps to reinforce the text of the image. In order to reveal the meanings of the visual message forms created in the study, it was aimed to present the findings by using Roland Barthes' semiological analysis method.
