Investigation and publication of Mehmed Efendi's work al-Hadiyyah fi Sharh al-Jazariyyah

Muqaddime-i Cezeriyye is one of the most important works written in tajweed discipline. This work, which we have, is an annotation of Muqaddime-i Cezeriyye written by Muhammed b. Mustafa b. Musa (d. 1149/1736) during the Ottoman period. The aim of this study is to teach the reader to gain the habit of reading the Quran in accordance with its rule and without errors, and to show the way how to recite Allah's book beautifully. While preparing this Muqaddime, İbuü'l Cezerî first states the sources of the letters and mentions the adjectives of the letters in brief, and then explains these adjectives in detail. Then, in order, he states the thin and bold reading of Ra; its tafhîm (pronouncement) and terkik ; the decrees of sâkin nûn, tenvîn and sâkin mîm, meds (fluxes/elongation), types of vakf (stops) and ibtida (beginning), vasıl and katı hemze ( arriving and solid hiatus), işmâm, revm and obstacles of işmâm, pauses, which is mentioned in the end. Mehmet Efendi's al-Hediyye fi Şerhi'l-Cezeriyye has the distinction of beinga very important work on this subject since the time it was written. In his work, our author both included the views of his predecessors and expressed his own views with evidence. This style of his has further increased the value of his work. The work was not written according to a single recitation (qiraah). It also included the views expressed by other scholars of qiraah, famous imams of qiraah and the ravis (narrators) of those imams.
