Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, nine short stories by Mehmet Vecihî have been examined from a thematic perspective. The stories of the author have been analyzed thematically for the first time in this study. The thesis consists of two chapters. In the first chapter, Mehmet Vecihî's Life and Works are discussed. In the second chapter, the short stories Hakîkât, Teessür, Heyhât, Tekâbül, Pervîz, Hasbihâl, Vuslat, Sâkıb, and Netice Yâhut Bir Yetimin Sergüzeşti are analyzed based on their themes. In the study, the first editions of the stories in Ottoman Turkish were accessed through the databases of the National Library of Turkey, the İBB Atatürk Library, and The Online Books Page; the quotations were made by preserving the original spelling and punctuation features of the works.
