Abstract (EN)

In the research, the role of the eye-centered paradigm on the existing basic design principles and the situations in which the sense of sight is dominant over other senses in space design and perception of space are examined. When the sense of touch comes into play, the cases where the existing basic design principles fall into the background are examined. The idea of researching the effect of the concept of haptic on space design and spaace design principles forms the basis of this study. The aim of the study is to discuss the extension of the role of basic design principles in interior design within the framework of the concept of haptics. The interior designs caused by the basic design principles formed on the basis of visual hegemony are far from the sense of touch, the basic design principles in the context of touch are missing, the sense of sight alone will not be enough to comprehend the space, the feeling of touching an object plays an important role in perceiving the space in interior architecture. to show that you are playing. In accordance with this purpose, studies were carried out with the data obtained from the inquiries made on certain installations. As a result of this study, the dominance of the eye-centered approach over the basic design principles has been observed. It was concluded that the haptic approach was left in the background in space design under the hegemony of the eye-centered approach. It was stated that this situation should be discussed within the framework of certain rules and norms. The eye-centered approach arising from this understanding is the objective point of view. It has been accepted as the union of the human mind with the act of looking. It has been revealed that the basic design principles formed on the basis of visual hegemony are phenomena far from the sense of touch, the basic design principles in the context of touch are lacking, the sense of sight alone will not be sufficient to comprehend the space, and the other senses should play a more active role in the design and perception of space. The depth involved in space design is directly proportional to designing living and living spaces. The haptic approach reaches the human mind by focusing the experience in space. The subject of eye-centrism in architecture has become a subject that needs to be questioned, since the eye-centered approach overlooks the bodily relationship between the person and the space and the bodily memory arising from this relationship. The space covered with skin contains all the senses such as sight, touch, taste and smell. The volume values in the space become subjective with components such as sound, smell, light and texture. The subjectivized space is evaluated with the criteria of taste and becomes objectified and creates space consciousness.
