Abstract (EN)
The sound shows its presence variously in cultural expressions that are the manifestations of social life from the most primitive to the most developed in the natural or built environment. The fact that sound has such a deep meaning that it cannot be reduced to a simple mechanical vibration in the air makes sound the subject of many disciplines as a concept, while at the same time turning it into a phenomenon that serves as a spatial experience. The presence or absence of sound expands the possibilities of experience, as well as affects the human process of perceiving space. In this context, it is noted that in the literature, in recent years, in studies on auditory awareness; in general, in everyday life, in particular, in the field of architecture, the sound is considered as a problem. In contrast to this approach, the study aims to evaluate sound as a phenomenon that enriches the spatial atmosphere and experience with the help of auditory awareness and gives rich perspectives to the designer in this direction. In line with, the importance of the phenomenon of sound for humans has been tried to be revealed dec an interdisciplinary approach. The necessity of evaluating the physiological, cognitive, psychological, and sociological dimensions of sound together was revealed through the data obtained, and the effects of sound on space, space on sound, and the contributions of each of them to auditory experience were examined. The expressions "The sound of space", "The space of sound", and the concept of "Sound architecture", which seems to have just entered the literature, are included and Zimoun's works are shown as an example for this concept. In this way, the relational connection of sound with space and the ability of the sound-hearing phenomenon to change the dynamics of space and redefine it has been tried to be revealed.
