Abstract (EN)

Spatial experience is to correctly understand, feel, design and shape a place before, its current process and how it should be in the future. Spatial representation, on the other hand, reveals the values and elements that a space represents individually or collectively, as it is included in the concept. This research includes the evaluation of the new appearance of the Museum Gazhane, which emerged as a result of the transformation process it went through, in the context of spatial experience and spatial representation. In the research, the meanings of the new identity of the Museum Gazhane in the context of spatial experience and spatial representation, together with the change process it has experienced from the past to the present, are investigated. At the same time, the opinions of the designers themselves in terms of spatial experience and spatial representation were included in the research by conducting an interview with Architect Dicle Özdemir and Architect Kadir Uyanık, the Founding Partners of Do[x] Arhitecture, which designed the museum gashouse. When the Museum Gazhane is evaluated in terms of appearance, spatial experience and representation after the change and transformation process, it is noticed that a positive picture emerges. In particular, it is understood that the designers' handling of the space in terms of experience and representation, as well as the view that confronts the end user, draws a useful roadmap for visitors in terms of experience and use.
