Abstract (EN)

The role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in breast cancer has gained significant attention. This study explores the role of specific miRNAs (miR-551a, miR-1238, miR-4534, miR-1294) in breast cancer, evaluating their expression levels in 82 samples from 41 patients (41 tumor and 41 normal tissues) using real-time PCR and identifying their target genes and pathways through bioinformatics, using tools like miRDB and TargetScan, and databases like topGO and EnrichR. Results showed that miR-1294 and miR-551a were lower in tumor tissues than in normal (p<0.05), while miR-4534 was overexpressed in tumors (p<0.05). No significant difference was observed in miR-1238 levels, excluding it from further analysis. MiR-1294, acting as a tumor suppressor, potentially targets BRCC3, MYCL, YOD1 genes in Hippo and p53 signaling pathways. MiR-551a, also a tumor suppressor, targets ERbB4, MEF2C, CRB2, TMPRSS2 in pathways like sphingolipid metabolism, Notch, MAPK, and ErbB signaling. Conversely, miR-4534, with oncogenic function, targets SOX6, ADCY1, ESRRG, ZNF142 in ion transport, and glutamatergic and cholinergic synapse signaling. In conclusion, miR-551a and miR-1294 are potential tumor suppressors suitable for therapeutic applications, while miR-4534, an oncogene in breast cancer, merits further study as a diagnostic biomarker.
