SPATIAL ANALYSIS OF PASTURE AREAS: ANTALYA EXAMPLE OF KORKUTELİ AND SERİK

Meat production has reached a point where it cannot meet the need for reasons such as rapid population growth in the world, global warming, animal diseases spreading in the form of epidemics, inefficiency or misuse of pasture areas. Among these reasons that limit meat production and consumption, the one that can be solved most quickly is the planning and improvement of pasture areas. With advances in technology and new methods, such plans and models can be made quickly, economically and with a very high accuracy rate. One of the methods used in these plans is spatial analysis. In this study, pasture areas of two districts in Antalya province, one from the plateau part (Korkuteli) and one from the coastal part (Serik), were selected as materials. The aim of the study is to perform spatial analysis of pasture areas selected as materials. ArcGIS and QGIS software, which are frequently used in geographic information systems, were used in the spatial analysis by using cartographic data (Aerial photographs, topographic maps and satellite images). Spatial analyzes such as topography (elevation, slope, aspect), soil (large soil groups), land use capability classes (LCC), erosion, climate analysis, plant pattern, usage pattern and pressure, and grazing plan were made. Laws, regulations, communiqués regarding pasture and the studies of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regarding pasture have been examined and interpreted from various perspectives. In addition, an attempt was made to create a projection regarding the change of pastures from past to present and their future use by obtaining multi-year data from DSI, TURKSAT and the General Directorate of Meteorology. As a result, a planning was made and usage suggestions were made in the pasture areas within the scope of the research.
