Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was searched the perception of eachother and themselves of the vocational course teachers and culture course teachers working in vocational high schools in terms of Professional activities and personal traits. In this study, it was also searched if the perceptions of culture course teachers and vocational teachers towards eachother and themselves in terms of vocational activities and personal qualifications are different or not according to the variables;gender and the type of the vocational highschool in which it was worked.This study was accomplished in 2007 ? 2008 academic year with 202 female, 222 male, total 424 vocational and culture course teachers working in 12 vocational schools located in the centre of Adana and Ceyhan province. The perceptions of teachers to eachother and themselves about their Professional activities and personal traits were measured with ?Teacher personalities Evaluating Scale? which was developed by the researcher. SPSS 11.5 programs utilized in the statical analysis of the collected data of the study. In order to analyse, factor analysis, variance analysis techniques and t test have been used.At the end of the research, It was found out that culture course teachers, in respect of the vocational course teachers, have higher positive personal and positive vocational perception; and lower negative personal and vocational perception towards ?culture course teachers?. For the perception of the teachers to ?vocational course teachers?, it was found out that vocational teachers have higher positive perceptions according to culture course teachers.As regards gender, it was found out that female teachers have higher positive personal and positive professional perceptions according to male teachers; have low negative personal and personal vocational perceptions according to male teachers.According to the type of vocational high schools, it was determined that vocational course teachers in the industrial vocational high schools have negative perception to the culture course teachers according to the vocational course teachers in other vocational high schools. Besides, it was determined that culture course teachers working in İmam hatip high schools have considerately lower negative Professional perceptions towards vocational teachers according to the perceptions of the teachers who work in Industry Vocational, Business Professional and Health vocational high schools.Keywords: Vocational highschool, Vocational Course teacher, Culture course teacher, Social perception, Professional activity, Personal trait
