Opinions of instructors,students and sector professionals related with the necessity of adding a nutrition course to hairdressing, skin care and beauty training programs within the curriculum of vocational colloge of higer education

Recently Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty Training Programs are opened within the structure of Vocational School of Higher Education which are affiliated with various universities in Turkey. Students who have graduated from the Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty Training Programs which are being opened within the structure of Vocational School of Higher Education where these students shall work as a "Master" worker in the sector. The purpose of the study is to determine the opinions of instructors, students and sector workers related with the necessity of a Nutrition Course within the mentioned educational program. A Nutrition Course does not exist in the training programs of Vocational Vocational School of Higher Education located in Turkey. Therefore, it is a major concern to follow innovations of the vocational program and develop suitable programs. This study was carried out on 262 individuals whom were enrolled or employed at the following institutes, where a descriptive investigation method was used which was based using a scanning method to determine the Opinions Related With The Necessity Of A Nutrition Course In Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty Training Programs at Vocational Schools of Higher Education: v (1) Final year students enrolled at the Gazi University Ankara Vocational School of Higher Education Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty Training Programs; (2) Cosmotology Teachers/instructors whom are teaching at Vocational High Schools located at Ankara Provincial Center, Girl's Vocational High Schools, Anatolia Technical High Schools, Anatolia Girl's Vocational High Schools and Vocational Training Centers with Hairdressing , Skin Care and Beauty Training Programs of Vocational Schools of Higher Education and related academic staff whom are employed at universities; and (3) "Nutrition Course" Teachers ; with (4) Cosmotology Professionals. Field course educators, educators of a nutrition course and professional workers whom are working in the field and 2 separate question forms which are applied to field students were coded as necessary and then transferred to a computer medium. Tables related with frequency, percentage and tables of mean values and crosswise tables were formed by a SPSS 9.0 program. A t test was applied to study variations. After then remarks were added to the study. Study results displayed the following facts that during their high education, a nutrition lesson was not provided for CT (52.90%), CP (8.3%) and CS (100%); and during their middle school education, a nutrition lesson was provided for CT (58.83%) and NCT (76.19%); however, a nutrition lesson was not provided for CP (46.43%) and CS (60.90%); and that while practicing their careers, it was suggested by CT (98.05%), NCT (100%), CP (82.14%) and CS (83.79%) that a course training program related with nutrition was required; and that it was found necessary by CT (97.05%), NCT (97.61%) CP (82.14%) CS (89.18%) that a course training program related with nutrition should be provided to students whom were enrolled in a Hairdressing/Skin Care and Beauty Training Program which was provided within the structure of Vocational School of Higher Education; and it was suggested by CT (%97.05), NCT (97.61%), CP (82.14%) and CS (79.02%) that a nutrition course was necessary for a master whom was involved in Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty vi jobs and whom was professionally employed in the mentioned field; and that CT (100%), NCT (97.61%) CP (90.50%) and CS (94.59%) understood the importance of the mentioned course for health care of hair and skin; and that it was also known that CT (100%), NCT (95.22%) CP (86.60%) and CS (87.83%) already knew the relationship with early aging and nutrition; and that CT (100%), NCT (83.34%), CP (80.35%) and CS (93.24%) understood the relationship between cellulite's and nutrition; and that CT (100%), NCT (100%) CP (86.60%) and CS (93.24%) were aware about the effectiveness of nutritional habits on business performance; and that CT (97.05%), NCT (100%), CP (75%) and CS (83.79%) were aware that the opinion that nutritional knowledge would increase their professional success. It was determined that the "Content of Nutrition Course Draft" which was prepared and developed according to the opinions of Field Course Trainers and Nutrition Course Trainer Groups and specialists were found suitable by " CT (86.11%) and NCT (80.5%) Based on the results of the study, it was recommended that a Nutrition Course should be added to the Hairdressing, Skin Care and Beauty Field training program which is provided to students whom are studying at a high educational level and to carry out modification and developmental studies in moderate level training programs which are taught at the current middle educational level.
