Master's thesis vocational school computer technologies department evaluation of skills of using information technologies in terms of sector and student (Diyarbakır province example)

The aim of the research is to demonstrate the skills of the students who are studying in the Computer Technologies Programs within the Vocational Schools and to evaluate the skills of using the information technologies and to evaluate them in terms of sector needs. The universe of research; In the academic year 2016-2017, Computer Technologies Department of Vocational Schools of Dicle University established students (N = 630) and students completed their internship work and formed institutions or work places. The sample of the study consisted of 4 students from Vocational School (n = 280) in Diyarbakır Province, Department of Computer Technologies in Dicle University and managers of the institutions or workplaces where students were practicing internship (n = 60). Reliability grade, student questionnaire and employer questionnaire, α = 0,869 and α = 0,803 were obtained, respectively. Descriptive statistics and mixed questionnaire method were used to analyze collected data, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean and t-test were used. The level of significance was accepted as 0,05. According to research findings; There was no significant difference between student and manager opinions in terms of the ability of students to use information technologies. Both administrators and students see students in part satisfactory in meeting the needs of the industry.
