The lexical intervory in Metin Savaş's Yeşil Çeşme novel

Language is an advanced system used by humans to express their thoughts, establish communication, and understand one another. Vocabolary encompasses all linguistic elements present in a language such as proverbs, idioms, reduplactions, set phrases, local dialectal expressions, terms slang, and borrowed words. In essence, the vocobulary of a language represents the entirety of its lexical resources. At the same time, a society's acting as a means of communication across all areas of life. Analyzing literary works in terms of vocobulary is significant because it helps reveal the richness of an author's language and expression, as well as the effects created by their word chocices on readers. Metin Savaş is a contemporary author who has written novels short stories, studies, compilations, mythlogy, and essays. This study focuses on the vocobulary elements found in Metin Savaş's novel Yeşil Çeşme. The study consist of three parts following the Introduction section. In the Introduction, the purpose, importance, method, and limitations of study are explained. The First Chapter focuses on the concept of vocobulary, defining and classifying it while discussing its scope and components. The second Chapter provides detailed information about Metin Savaş's life, literary career, and works, especially focusing on the novel Yeşil Çeşme. In the Third Chapter, the vocobulary elements found in the novel are analyzed these include proverbs, idioms, reduplications, set phrases, slang words, dialectal elements, borrowed words, and terms. The meanings of there words, their page numbers, and example sentences from the novel provided. In the Conclusion, the findings from the analysis are evaluated, and the frequency of the identified vocobulary elements usage is presented. A pie illustrates the distribution of these elements in the novel. Through this study, it is aimed to contribute to future research on identifying and classifying the vocobulary of the Turkish language based on Yeşil Çeşme by Metin Savaş.
