Abstract (EN)

The continuity of time undergoes changes in societies and spaces with the development of technology. Spaces reflect the cultural changes and accumulations of a society. The way to transfer the historical and cultural values of a society to future generations is to protect historical environments. Monumental historical buildings in historical environments that need to be protected reflect the socio-cultural, economic and political values of societies in the past. With this approach, it is seen that historical buildings, which we describe as monumental, reflecting the spiritual values and cultural accumulation of the society, have been used either consciously or unconsciously from the past to the present, or have been abandoned by remaining dysfunctional. Thus, the historical urban fabric, in which it is included in the memory of civil architecture, enters the process of disappearing. In this study, the current status of civil architectural structures in the historical city center of Konya has been revealed. The current situation has been evaluated by considering the restoration works carried out in the region. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the traditional housing heritage reflecting the urban identity of Konya is in the process of extinction. Ten buildings were selected from the registered civil architectural structures in the historical texture. The changes that the buildings have undergone from the past to the present and their current use have been determined. The aim of this study is to reuse all the monumental structures in the vicinity of Mevlana in terms of selected historical civil architectural structures for tourism and to transfer them to future generations.
