Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACTIn this research it has been tried to emphasize how ethnic and religious factors affected architectural Works of Midyat , which tells us about us, apart from the regional effects such as civilizations founded around, the meterials used in construction, climate and sociocultural life. About the reflection of religion and languages on architecture , it has been observed that there are similar effects on Seljuk architectural works as well regarding the recorded history on the stones.It?s been seen that In spite of the wars, natural disasters and exterior forces, the reason why these Works are still standing is largely used stones. From this point Midyat stone architecture gains more importance as it carried the history today.It is focused on the importance of these works as they carry history, tell us what happened in the past and make up the basic of contemparary architecture having been mixed with modern architecture.It is tried to be seen whether there is an effect of sociocultural environment on art education by examining historical an architectural Works and considering the relationship between art and place it is been tried to figure out the architecturalVİperception of local people by means of the paintings of primary school students in Midyat.As a result with this research, it is searched if there are similarities between Seljuk Architecture and Midyat Architecture and how much this synthesis affected the contemporary architecture and with what sort of reflections these factors come up in art, modern architecture and socio cultural life.Key words: Midyat, Seljuks, Stone Art, Art Education, Architectural Works
