Abstract (EN)
Miftahül Cennet or Miftahül Cenne means "key to heaven". It is a religious book outlining the doctrines of Islam, translated from Arabic to Turkish by the early 15th century scholar-poet Ahmed-i Dai in the name of Lü'lü Pasha. The works consisting of eight chapters became so popular after this translation that it was reproduced by many scribalists. Even though there are copies which are somewhat different others stayed true to the original copy. Some of these copies can be found at Süleymaniye Library (Esad Efendi, nr.1726; Fatih, nr.2853; Bağdatlı Vehbi Efendi, nr 1565). The text we worked on was prepared by Mustafa Ömer El-Vasfi, about whom we could by Mustafa Ömer El-vasfi not find any information in any sources. In this study, first of all we wrote down Miftahül Cennet book using transcription alphabet. Then we prepared a word index to illustrate the vocabulary of the period in which this work was written. We then provided information about the works and life of Ahmed Dai. In the next section linguistic examination of the text was carried out. Using examples from the text, spelling of vowels and consonants, meaning and structure of sentences, derivational affixes, case suffixes, past tense suffixes, past tense and mode suffixes, derivational and inflectional suffixes in Turkish words and prefixes were depicted. Miftahül Cennet book is a religious text, identified by various names, with books and articles written about its prayer and its meaning but the book's literary characteristics have not been studied. We hope that this study will be a resource for those to study Miftahül Cennet as well as linguistic traits of the period in which the book was written.
