The investigation of the opinions and teachers and studentes about their schools building and gardens in the primary schools that architectural features different

In this study, students and teachers opinions about their own schools building and gardens in three primary schools, which have got different architectural features, was to be examined in detail. Universe of the study consists of the teachers, who worked in the official primary school in the central district of Adana province in the 2008-2009 academic year, and the students who are in 4.-8. classes in these schools. Fort the sample selection, three schools at the good, middle and lower levels in point of architectural features was determined with regard to information received from the National Education Director of Adana province inspectors and teachers. Then, the survey was applied to all teachers in these three schools and students who are randomly determined from one each branch of 4.-8. classes. Also, in this study, five each teachers from different branches in these three schools and ten each students (two each students from 4-8 classes) were identified basis to voluntary, meetings have been held with these individuals. In this context, while only 439 students and 96 teachers participated to the survey, 15 teachers and 30 students have participated in talks.Data was collected through the ?metaphors? questionnaire that is attributed to the schools building and garden OBBAMA and semi-structured interview form. The data obtained in investigating were analyzed with the methods of content analysis.According to research results, it has emerged according to user opinions that general view of school?s building and garden and availability of physical space is a critical factor in influencing the education quality. In the schools that its buildings and gardens are accepted as adequate, students and teachers manufactured metaphors under more positive themes and have positive feedback in the sense, in the schools that is buildings and gardens manufactured under more negative themes and have negative feedback in the sense, in the schools that its buildings and gardens aren?t accepted as adequate, students and teachers manufactured under more negative themes and have negative feedback in the sense. It can be said that the more the level of architectural features increase positively, the more teachers and students develop a positive attitude against the school.In the direction of research results, it can be said that the sections, that have not been in the determined schools although it is required, have to the be determined by a commission created by the Provincial National Education Director and have to give place to these missing sections in projects that the National education Ministry will do after that. Moreover, to participate the architects, engineers, educators and children?s educators to the process of the buildings structure and gardens regulation, to provide to teachers and students making the color choices of schools, that is available or will be done, and to get ideas of teachers and students during the class and environment regulation is recommended.Keywords: Metaphor, School Building, School Garden, Metaphors Questionnaire that is attributed to the schools building and garden (OBBAMA)
