Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY In this study, the architectural product is examined carefully during communication process according to semiology which can study meaningful entire and it is exemplified how the meanings reached by linguistics are interpreted. We know that forms live during historical process but they can also have other different meanings where they exist. In order to explain this, we bring architecture together with linguistic, systemology, communication and semiology in theoretical support section. If we examine the linguistical structure, the dialectical explanation of signs are examined, the similar parts between language which is a system itself and architecture are explained. Also the qualities of sign are stated. The principle subject of this study is how these forms or meanings occur from time to time and how they are used or which meanings they carry. Chapter Four is about the relation between sign and object. In this chapter concepts like icon, index and symbol are explained and exemplified. We can classify the qualities of architectural products which are revealed by these concepts. They can become firmly established in semantic's point of view. So we can create a language which helps us to understand the architectural products by some systematic tableau. When we have a look at the architectural history we encounter with forms again and again in different trends and functions. This occurs with traditional or arbitrary level in shaped manner or almost like a picture of the object it resembles. Sometimes it happens when it has a causality contact with the object it resembles. In this study, the retrospective forms from history and the meanings they carry are discussed and some theories are produced which enable us to read the architectural forms better and clearly.
