Abstract (EN)
Many scientists have put forward different ideas on the definition of city and urbanization. İt was accepted by many researchers that the first in history were born in Southern Mesopotamia in the 4th millennium BC. The spread of the culture of South Mesopotamian origin to the north is called the Uruk extension. During this period, the characteristics of the south began to be seen in the north. This spread is also known as the first colonization movement in the world. Especially in the end of the 4th millennium BC and the beginning of the third millennium BC, it is seen that the settlements with southern characteristics have emerged in the Northern Syria Region. In this study, urban settlements in Northern Syria in the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC will be examined in detail.
