Motivation in the concept of modern management: A survey in Public Security Branch Office of Kütahya Provincial Police Department

Fundamental element that is enabler attains one's aim of business / institution is human. Managers that want to catch the era attach importance to personnel that is employed in business / institution. The futures of organizations are related to qualified personnel that are employed. In a democratic business / institution, the success of managers depends on increasing of productivity of employers, perpetuate of their dependence to the organization, developing new methods to keep up their motivativation levels.Nowadays public institutions have been also subsisted a changing process like private sector companies. For this reason, the experiences of business managements and the innovations that are improved by company administrators have been given importance by public institutions also. Public corporations have tried to recruitment of quality of public services that are financed by public with taxes and to rise of productivity of their services. Therefore high level being of motivation of employed personnel in public institutions has affected quality and productivity level of services of these institutions.In this study, it is investigated that which elements have positive effect about motivations of personnel of the Public Security Branch Office of Kütahya Provincial Police Department. This study consists of three parts. In the first part of study, analyses of modern management approaches had been given. In the second part of study, analysis of motivation concept and its position in modern management had been examined. In the third part of study, management structure, mission and authorizations of police department had been generally investigated. In the last part of study, survey had been implemented to determine motivation level of personnel in the Public Security Branch Office of Kütahya Provincial Police Department and it has been affected from which elements. Data set that is obtained from survey results have been analyzed by used SPSS program.Kew Words: Motivation, Contemporary Management Approaches, Public Security, Police.
