Abstract (EN)

The doorknob is known to consist of a ball-shaped handle that opens and closes the door and is usually made of metal. It is one of our important values that must be dealt with in our material cultural assets. These folkloric values point to the point where the Anatolian mining art has come from, on the other hand, they show good examples of the rich ornamental compositions of Anatolia. In the historical process, in various cultures, the signs used in the gates to protect the inhabitants from evil and to protect them against good and to protect against evil. The person coming from outside to the door knockers touched this knocker and announced his visit to the people at home. Sometimes, a ring called the slap or pull that was placed next to the knocker to pull and close the door would serve as the second knocker. So the first contact with the door knockers would be here. Door knockers are original works of art and new forms have been created in each period. It is simple, unpretentious or glorious in connection with the financial means of the constructor. The wealthy landlords' door knockers would be large and the poor families of the brothers would be iron and small. Door knockers are one of the important elements of our mining art. Brass, iron and bronze were used as materials. Forging and casting techniques were used. It has been observed that most of the Muğla houses were knocked out of the door knockers and that only traces were left. It is noteworthy that female hand-shaped mallets are common in Muğla. Similarities of the door knockers found in Muğla are similar to those in Kastamonu, Isparta, Hatay, Izmir, Amasya, Divrigi, Nigde, Tokat, Zile and many other provinces and it is stated in our study. It is thought that the gavels in Muğla were probably made from other provinces and brought to the city for use at the gates. Historical and registered houses have been identified in Muğla. These houses are mostly seen in Saburhane, Emir Beyazıt, Kara Ahmet, Cami Kebir, Hacı Rüstem, Müştak Bey, Ahmet Çavuş in Milas, Hacı Bedrettin, Gazi Pasha, and Kale in Marmaris. Keywords: 1.
