Abstract (EN)

This research includes the experience and problems of the students who are accepted as refugees in primary school level in Düzce. It contains their life experience during the adaptation process to the education system and society. In this study, a qualitative research approach was used and a broad perspective was tried to be provided including refugee parents, teachers and school principals and the effect of inclusive education on the adaptation process from this broad perspective. According to the data obtained from Düzce National Education Directorate, the research is based on in-depth interviews with a total of 44 people in three primary schools in Düzce. 12 refugee students and their parents, 12 class teachers and school principals, three guidance teachers and one inclusive education instructor participated to the study. In addition, interviews were held with the Director of the National Education Department for the latest data on the province. The study, which is designed with phenomenological case, examines the impact of migration on children in terms of different variables which is quite important for a better understanding what they experienced during the most difficult phase of adaptation. It is hoped that this research will contribute not only to the literature, but also to a new generation having the opportunity to express themselves, since a healthy adaptation process will provide the basis for a healthy development process.
