Abstract (EN)

Murat Menteş, one of the most original authors of contemporary Turkish literature, began his career with poetry and essays, later continuing with novels and interviews. This study focuses on Menteş's novels Dublörün Dilemması (2005), Korkma Ben Varım (2008), Ruhi Mücerret (2013), Antika Titanik (2018), Fink (2021), Tabancalı Kız (2022) and Afili Hafiye (2023) and aims to identify and analyze the major recurring themes within them. Themes such as love, murder, death, friendship, father issues, and criticism of capitalism are examined through the narrative structures and character constructions of these works. Woven with irony, humor, aphorisms, popular culture references, and postmodern elements, Menteş's novels reveal a rich and layered textual world. It is also observed that the author frequently employs postmodern narrative techniques, thereby transforming the traditional novel structure through his innovative use of time, space, and narrators. Utilizing scientific methods, this study seeks to analyze the novels and identify their thematic constructions, ultimately aiming to reveal the thematic diversity present in these seven works and to demonstrate how themes are addressed in contemporary Turkish fiction.
