Analyzing Mustafa Kutlu's consept of kanaat economy in his stories

In this study, Mustafa Kutlu's stories have been examined in the context of the concepts of economics. Many studies have been done on the stories of Mustafa Kutlu. However, none of these studies analyzed these stories within the framework of economic concepts. In order to understand Mustafa Kutlu's criticism of capitalist economics, we analyzed the stories in the context of these concepts In the introduction part of the thesis, the information about the reasons for choosing this subject, the scope of our study, its aims and method are given. In the first part of our study, the mentality transformation that took place in philosophy and science until the 18th century when economics became an independent science has been tried to be explained in a historical and theoretical context. As a result of this, the thinkers who caused the mentality transformations in science and philosophy in the Ancient and Modern Age and their works have been presented. Social, political and historical events experienced during these transformations have been described. In addition, the concept of kanaat put forward by Mustafa Kutlu as an alternative to capitalism and the concepts of Anadolu Mayası by Yalçın Koç, which we propose as the source of this concept, are explained. In the second part of our study, the social and political events that took place in the process of economics becoming an independent science are explained. The birth of capitalism and economics' approach to capitalism have been explained historically and theoretically within the context of the ideas of the economist thinkers of the period. In the third part of our study, the stories, which are our studying materials, are introduced and each story is examined in the context of the concepts arising from capitalist-economics. In the conclusion part, it has been tried to show that some of the heroes in Mustafa Kutlu's stories represent the capitalist economy and some represent the kanaat economy. It is seen that understanding the theoretical grounds of this ideal is possible by turning to the source of the moral value represented by these heroes.
