Abstract (EN)
This study, in which ethnographic field works are utilized, has been completed after a wide research of multicultural theories in a period of six years. At the end of this duration, musical samples recorded in and around Mardin during the 1960s and the ones sang today have been evaluated in the repertoire of Assyrian, Kurdish, Arabic and Turkish musical culture. Through "Sabiha", a ballad from Mardin, which was chosen in terms of these musical samples, an effort to identify the multicultural structure of the region is made by depicting the cultural codes that a musical sample bears.
