Abstract (EN)
Music, which takes place in every corner of our lives and we find somethingf amiliar in all the feelings that we experience, has gone through drastic changes and it has taken its final form with the advent of technology. In the ancient history, this adventure having started with two wooden sticks being hit and the sounds found in the nature has become Professional with the invention of musical instruments, sound-recording Technologies and the digital sounds that are found on the computers. Having a very important place in our lifes, sport also got benefit of technology and formed its proffesional form in our day. Sport adventure which started in early age of humanity for the purpose of hunting or martial arts, continued developing at the gyms where they appear almost in every street today. For athletes, warming up and listening to music while doing sports has become a classic and music has become an integral part of almost all athletes' lives. Music, which has even been used for therapeutic purposes in the past, even affects the motivation and performance of athletes and plays an important role in their success. This study was conducted to see and understand the effect of music on athletes' performance and motivation.In this study, in which quantitative research method was used, a questionnaire form finalized by the researcher in line with expert opinions was used.The form was applied to a total of 100 athletes attendingAnatolian High Schools in AdapazarıDistrict of Sakarya Province. The survey data obtained in the research were presented in tables with the Cross Table in the SPSS Program, interpreted and concluded within the framework of the sub-problems. As a result of the data obtained, it was seen that music generally has a positive effect on the performance and motivation of male and female athletes in all branches.The study is important in terms of seeing the effect of music on individuals who warm up and do sports.
