Abstract (EN)

The education inspectors taking great responsibilities in all areas of education to reach the goals are to have a number of competencies. First of all, education inspectors must themselves be open to and be aware of the innovations, reach an in-depth knowledge and competence about the requirements of their own and teaching profession; must use an effective way rather than an authority style when explaining the developments, they must be good models, communicators and guide for them. In this study, it is aimed to have an access to direct information from the people concerned about the controlling of music teachers in accordance with the purposes and to discuss the suitability of the control model used in our education system in every area. The study population consists of the music teachers working in the province of Diyarbakır and having gone under the controlling process. In the present study, as it is aimed to reach the all population, apart from selecting a sample, 96 volunteer music teachers are taken as the population. In the current study, the national and international literature were searched in order to get data, as a result of the interviews with 15 provincial education inspectors and 25 music teachers a data collection tool consisting of 25 items was prepared. In the pre- application phase the "cronbach alpha" reliability coefficient was 0.94, while in the actual application it was found to be 0.949. The percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, independence sample t-test, one-way variance analysis were used to analyse the data collected through the survey. In one- way analysis of variance in cases where significant differences occurred "Scheffe 'test results were analyzed. The differences found were expressed according to the significance level of 0.05. These statistics were obtained using the package program "SPSS 18.0". While there was a statistically significant difference in the perceptions of the teachers in the research group about the course control according to the place of residence; a significant difference was not found in gender, length of service, number of control undergone. As for the recommendations about the data collected as a result of the study; The provincial inspectors must improve themselves about the applications assessing the academic success of the education rather than the formal control and must develop new methods; certain seminars about music education should be given to the provincial inspectors controlling music teachers; in order to fulfill especially their duties concerning guidance and professional assistance, the inspectors controlling the music courses should be experts in the area of music teaching; much more importance should be given to branching out of the educational inspectors.
