A curriculum proposal for the usability of the music technologies in the beginner level group piano education: Mıdı piano laboratory implemantati̇ons

Developing and spreading technology appears in every stage of the music as an adjuvant material for the people who wants to make music, learn music and teach music such as musicians, researchers, music educators and students. In music field, like in every field of life it is necessary to take advantage of technology as well as improving that advantage to maximum level. In this research, a curriculum proposal for the usability of the music technologies in the beginner level group piano education is designed. 16 weeks long education program has been done to 10 willing students from same department every weekon monday as one academic class hour (45 minutes) at full equipped midi piano laboratory inside the Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Turkish Music State Conservatory Music Technologies Department implemented by Department Chair Dr. Seyhan CANYAKAN and investigated by researcher Ahmet Kerim ACAR. Students were ask for the condition of not having any previous piano education since there were going to get beginner level group piano education. Practiced program has been evaluated and interpreted by the experts on the design, planning, learning-teaching condition and implementing stages. In this context, the research is an action research where qualitative and quantitative data are scripturally processed. At the implementation part of the education program, data obtained by the investigation of researcher and the interview technique of practitioner which includes the evaluated work of the students that has been done at 7th and 16th weeks of the program as mid-term and final exams has been interpreted. As a result of the data gathered from action research process and expert evaluate being put to test it came to conclusion that program is successful.
