Abstract (EN)
Myra, one of the most important cities of the Lycia Region, maintained its importance from the Classical Period to Late Antiquity. Andriake, the port of Myra, became an international trade center especially in Late Antiquity. Thousands of commercial amphorae have been recovered in Myra and Andriake since 2009. Within the scope of the thesis, all commercial amphorae recovered until 2022 were studied in order to preserve the integrity of Andriake Harbor. As a result of the excavations in Andriake, intensive amphorae are found in every sector. Many forms were found from the Hellenistic Period to the end of Late Antiquity. It is noteworthy that amphorae from many centers such as the Aegean and islands such as Rhodos and Kos, the Black Sea, the Adriatic coast, the Levant, Africa, Egypt and Portugal are large. In addition to the stamped and graffitied amphorae, the stoppers were also analyzed within the scope of the thesis. Archaeometric analyses were also carried out with the samples selected within the scope of the study and it is aimed to shed light on the production of the city and the region. The Andriake amphorae not only show the socio-economic structure of Andriake and the main ket Myra, but also provide more detailed information about the whole Lycia Region and the cities and regions with which it was related.
