The characters in Nâbî's Divan

Yusuf Nâbî, XVII. He is one of the leading poets of the century. When it comes to didactic masnavi, the first name that comes to mind is Yusuf Nâbî. Nâbî achieved this fame not only with his famous masnavis called Hayrabad and Hayriyye, but also with many of his works in verse and prose. Nâbî Divan is a composed divan consisting of various verse forms such as ode, tahmis, history, masnavi, ghazal, muamma, lugaz, stanza, rubai, matla. In this work, he talks about historical, legendary and mythological figures, Turkish and Iranian poets, prophets, and religious personalities mentioned in the Holy Quran. He commemorates these personalities on various occasions to praise the person being praised, to strengthen the meaning of the poem, and to immortalize the people he considers important to him. When these people are compared to the people who are praised, those who are praised always prevail. The persons mentioned in the study are discussed together with the couplets, and the couplets are evaluated together with the information of the persons whose names are mentioned.
